Healthy homemade granola made in the airfryer in less than 15 minutes. Low in sugar with just five simple ingredients.

Granola is a brilliant option for a quick breakfast for kids. Made predominately with oats, it’s high in fibre with the nuts and seeds adding a protein and healthy fat boost.

Shop bought granola is convenient but it’s often very high in sugar, not to mention very expensive.

Making our own at home is easier than you think, especially if you use your airfryer. And you can keep the sugar content super low too.

How To Make Granola in the Airfryer

The full recipe with ingredients and measurements are in the recipe card down below but I also have some step-by-step photos here to show you just how easy it is!

  1. Add oats and mixed seeds to a large bowl together with some chopped nuts.
  1. Mix these together well with a spoon.
  1. Add in melted butter and honey and mix again.
  1. Transfer to the bottom of the airfryer and cook for 7 minutes, stirring about 3 or 4 times.

In just seven minutes you will have the most delicious homemade granola, ready to serve up for breakfast. No faffing around with pre-heating the oven, you can even do this in the morning ready to eat straight away!

Storing Homemade Granola

This granola will keep in an airtight jar or container for at least 2 weeks. So handy to grab for breakfast on busy mornings.

It also makes a brilliant snack for kids. My son will often have a serving of greek yogurt and this granola after dinner.

Can You Make This Nut Free

Yes you can! You can omit the nuts from the recipe and add some extra seeds instead. You could also add some desiccated coconut to change up the flavour slightly.

Serving

Serve this granola with greek yogurt and some fresh berries for a delicious and healthy breakfast or snack for kids.

You could also use it to make up these Yogurt Granola Pots. The berry compote is so tasty!

Description

Healthy homemade granola made in the airfryer in less than 15 minutes. Low in sugar with just five simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 150g oats
  • 40g mixed seeds
  • 40g mixed nuts
  • 40g butter, melted
  • 1.5 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Add the oats and mixed seeds to a large bowl.
  2. Chop the nuts into small pieces (the smaller the better for younger children) and add those to the bowl, mixing everything together.
  3. Add the melted butter and honey and mix again.
  4. If your airfryer has a basket or tray, remove that. Add the granola to the bottom of the airfryer.
  5. Airfry at 180c for 7 minutes.
  6. It is important to stop the airfryer and stir the granola 3-4 times whilst cooking. The edges will cook quicker so this ensures that the granola is evenly cooked throughout.

Notes

This granola will keep in an airtight container or jar for at least 2 weeks.
