The ultimate Christmas party food! Cocktail sausages baked to perfection with a sweet and sticky Asian glaze.

I am sure it must be law or something but we all know that you absolutely cannot have a Christmas party without cocktail sausages.

There’s something so moreish about them! Which guarantees that they will be snapped up quicker than any other party snack served.

This cocktail sausage recipe is no exception and is so quick and easy to prepare. Start with some cocktail sausages. These are in all supermarkets and butchers at this time of year. But if you can’t get any, then chipolatas cut into half or thirds works fine too.

The glaze can be whipped up in a matter of seconds. Simply mix together honey, sesame oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and dijon mustard.

If you are worried that the flavourings in this recipe may be a little strong then fear not!

The honey and balsamic vinegar creates a delicious sweet and sticky glaze whilst the sesame oil and soy sauce gives the sausages a very subtle hint of Asian flavouring.

Pour the glaze over the sausages and toss them around so that they are all fully coated.

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, turning once to ensure that they cook evenly.

Once out of the oven they are ready to serve straight away. I top with sesame seeds and chopped coriander to complete that Asian flavouring. But for the kids, you might want to leave these off.

Alternative Ingredients & Flavours

I promise you these party sausages will be loved by kids and grown ups alike but if you are catering for an adult only party then you could add a splash or chilli sauce to the glaze mixture to give it a fiery kick!

The recipe would also work well with frozen sausages but obviously adjust the cooking times as they will take a little longer in the oven.

I always keep frozen cocktail sausages in the freezer over the festive period. As it’s so handy to whip up a batch if you have unexpected guests.

Hi Kimberly, as we only use 1 tsp dijon mustard,we suggest just leaving it out completely.

Do you think these could be adapted to the crockpot? Would like to make them along side PF Changs lettuce wraps and wonton dippers for an Asian twist New Years Eve Party and I need the oven space. Plus I’d like to not have to be tending to too many dishes at once.

Yes I think they would work in the crockpot. But I probably wouldn’t cook them for too long as I would be afraid that they might start to fall apart. Also, to get the brown colour they would need to be quickly fried first. Your NYE dishes sound delicious!

    Love these.

I assume the glaze would work well on larger sausages for an evening meal too (just cook for longer) what do you think?

So glad to have discovered the secret of your fab photography on Instagram, perhaps I should let my little ones do my styling too!!

Yes Charlotte I think the glaze would work just as well on large sausages.

Ha ha, yes I’m so lucky to have a 3 year old styling assistant!!
